Lasagna on the Fly

Yesterday, i wanted to make lasagna, but i didn't have most of the ingredients.  So i made a lasagna-esque dish that turned out pretty good.

Ingredients

  • 6 lasagna noodles
  • one pound browned hamburger
  • one can or jar (or whatever) of your preferred spaghetti sauce
  • italian seasoning and spices
  • one jar alfredo sauce
  • a few ounces of plain yogurt (or whatever you have on hand)
  • whatever cheese you can find - i had fiesta mix
It's pretty simple.  I mixed about a 1/4 of container of plain yogurt (it's what was left) with most of a jar of alfredo sauce.  I boiled the noodles until they were sufficiently bendy.  I seasoned the meat with plenty of garlic powder and onion powder and italian herbs and mixed it with the spaghetti sauce and heated it up.

Then i layered this business to my liking in a regular loaf pan.

Two noodles on the bottom.

Layer of spaghetti sauce.
Layer of alfredo sauce.

Two more noodles.

Layer of shredded cheese.
Layer of alfredo sauce.
Layer of spaghetti sauce.

Two more noodles.

Layer of alfredo sauce.
Layer of spaghetti sauce.
Layer of shredded cheese.

Set the loaf pan on a cookie sheet (because there will probably be spillage) and bake at 350 or so for 30 minutes or until it looks sufficiently yummy.

Enjoy.

My loving man doesn't like the traditional feta cheese and whatnot in the lasagna, and i didn't tell him about the yogurt content.  ;)  Everyone enjoyed it, and the loaf pan amount was plenty for 3 of us to eat and have leftovers.  Not bad, if i say so myself.

  4. I made it! YUMMY! I added chicken churizo and ground turkey breast instead of hamburg and added ricotta to the alfredo, it was SO GOOD! Best yet! And I have tried (my old recipe had liquisa, but you can't get it here) many recipes to match my old one, and this was great. Thank you very much!
